Ocean Beach is a village in the town of Islip in Suffolk County on Fire Island. The best way to visit Ocean Beach is by boat, ferry or water taxi. There is not too much mentioned about Ocean Beach besides its incorporation in 1921 and the location of the first elementary school on Fire Island in 1918. A hurricane hit the area in 1938, but Ocean Beach was mainly spared with many of the historical homes still standing today.

Ocean Beach has one school which serves students in kindergarten through 6th grades, the Woodhull School. The village has some very unusual laws put in place for the safety of residents including no bike riding on the weekends, so visiting all the ice cream parlors, shops, and beaches are all done by walking. The village is a laid back quiet community that enjoys the peace and quiet while providing a family atmosphere. The nightlife around Ocean Beach is very different than the quiet atmosphere of the day. The most popular attractions are the beaches which have been listed among the top ten beaches in the world with beaches that are always clean and never overcrowded. The night time belongs to those that enjoy bar hopping and enjoying the beach.
